Introduction To Aromatherapy

Smell may very well be the fastest way to induce emotional response. Helen Keller once wrote:

"Smell is a potent wizard that transports us across thousands of miles and all the years we have lived. The odors of fruits waft me to my southern home, to my childhood frolics in the peach orchard. Other odors, instantaneous and fleeting, cause my heart to dilate joyously or contract with remembered grief. Even as I think of smells, my nose is full of scents that start awake sweet memoriesof summers gone and ripening fields far away" ("Sense and Sensibility," The Century Magazine, LXXXV, February 1908, pp573-577)

If you have ever even relaxed in a bath scented with essential oils, then you have already experienced a taste of the magick available from aromatherapy. Aromatherapy has been defined as a holistic approach to health and well being by means of aromas - scents derived primarily from the plant kingdom.
